TN&A’s engineers excel at providing innovative and cost-effective solutions to transportation needs, including planning and feasibility studies, environmental documents, geometric design, contract documents, and construction administration. Using CAiCE, MicroStation, and AutoCAD, TN&A produces plans that are consistent with client requirements.

Our staff has engineered urban and rural reconstruction and rehabilitation projects for numerous local and state agencies. These projects involve alignment improvements, capacity expansions, and safety enhancements. Our freeway experience includes engineering improvements to on/off ramps, and upgrades to diamond and cloverleaf interchanges. We manage environmental issues relating to wetlands, farmlands, 4(f) lands, archaeology sites, and potential hazardous material sites.

Construction management services include both full and partial administration for transportation facilities, including project engineering, material testing and inspection, site layout, records management and final acceptance. Projects include urban and rural roadways, interchanges, bridges and retaining walls, traffic signals, safety rest areas, and wetland mitigation sites.

We provide survey support for many of our own projects, as well as other engineering firms, general contractors, state and local agencies, and the commercial sector. Customized services are available for design, construction, and survey for transportation improvement projects.

TN&A provided construction management for a roundabout as part of a reconstruction in downtown Mount Horeb, the first one built in WisDOT, District 1. The project included a 1 mile mill and overlay segment of STH 78, which is also Main Street, through downtown Mount Horeb. We managed the reconstruction of the intersection of STH 78 and STH 92 from a traffic signal to a roundabout. As part of the second phase of the project, we managed milling, base patching, and overlaying the roadway. In addition, the project involved an installation of a storm sewer; decorative brick pavers and crosswalks; and decorative lights on Main Street of downtown Mount Horeb.

To house families displaced by hurricane Ivan, TN&A provided the design and specifications for the installation of 50 to 60 FEMA mobile homes on a temporary basis. The site was located within the city limits of Milton, Florida, and utilized feasible preliminary plans for a residential subdivision that was provided by the owner of the property. TN&A designed a potable water supply, a sanitary waste water system, electrical supply, and storm water runoff provisions. The design was in compliance with all applicable state and local laws, statutes, and permits.

TN&A was the prime consultant for a 12.5-mile reconditioning project in Columbus, Wisconsin. The project included a 0.5-mile urban section with new storm sewer, sidewalk, and a new bridge. The 12-mile rural section included shoulder widening, correcting horizontal and vertical alignments, retaining walls, box culvert design, and intersection improvements. Marginal soils and numerous wetlands required significant excavation below subgrade and a pavement structure with 16 inches of breaker run stone. In addition, the project contained farmland, 4(f) lands, archaeology sites, and erosion control issues. TN&A also completed a 12-mile right of way plat with access control for over 100 parcels.
