OTIE is providing support to create, evaluate, and refine statistical methods, analyses, and quantitative models for the EPA NERL regional vulnerability assessment. The Regional Vulnerability Assessment (ReVA) program is an ecological research program that uses monitoring and spatial data to develop spatially-explicit indicators of environmental health and vulnerability. OTIE is developing new web-based ways of integrating spatial data and model results to facilitate multicriteria decision-making. As shown in the screen shot, OTIEs GIS-based Environmental Decision Toolkit facilitates and visualizes regional environmental assessments under different scenarios. |

OTIE provided support to the EPA NCEA for building the Causal Analysis/Diagnosis Decision Information System (CADDIS) Internet site. The CADDIS site assists state biologists to identify the stressors causing impairments in streams to facilitate TMDL development. OTIE prepared literature reviews, extracted data, built user friendly interfaces for statistical tools and databases, and developed an Internet-based interactive conceptual model to provide supporting literature for evaluating candidate causes. |

OTIE provided human health and ecological risk assessment expertise for a stakeholder working group for the USDA Forest Service. The group developed remediation goals to convert a former ammunition plant to a tallgrass prairie. Specific scenarios were developed to protect prairie restoration workers, flora, and fauna while meeting the needs of all involved stakeholders. |
