Water/Wastewater Management

OTIE provides professional services on a wide variety of municipal projects. OTIE develops systems and processes to manage flooding and wastewater as well as systems to deliver a safe water supply. Our range of experience includes planning, evaluation, design, and construction. We have completed projects for wastewater collection and treatment, biosolids management, water distribution and treatment, and storm water drainage. OTIE has a core of experienced project managers who provide the leadership to deliver your project on schedule and within budget.

OTIE designed several improvements for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. One project involved providing variable frequency drives at two pump stations to achieve energy savings. A second project involved rehabilitating sewers by installing a cured-in-place liner to achieve additional service life.

For the US Forest Service, Lake Sherwood National Forest Campground, WV, OTIE designed both a new water distribution system and an innovative wastewater collection system using grinder pumps and small diameter force mains. The new wastewater system includes approximately 2 miles of force mains, two lake crossings, 11 new grinder pump stations, upgrades to the existing aerated lagoon wastewater treatment plant, and a new telemetry system.

OTIE provided the survey and civil engineering design of a boardwalk along the Milwaukee River and adjacent streets in downtown Milwaukee. The work included two solids removal units for stormwater from the I-794 bridge.
