OTIE’s civil engineers, environmental engineers, geologists, and hydrogeologists, have performed landfill site evaluations, cover system design, liner installation and documentation, liner design, gas collection design, gas alarm systems, gas migration prevention systems, flare station design, grading plans, storm water collec¬tion, leachate collection and treatment, hazardous waste separation, and waste characterization.

OTIE completed design and construction for rehabilitation of an abandoned landfill at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO. OTIE constructed a leachate and seep collection system and new cover to promote surface drainage and reduce surface infiltration.

OTIE constructed a $2.95M landfill cover at IR Site 1 Tidal Area Landfill at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, Detachment Concord, Concord, CA, to carry out a CERCLA site closure. OTIE unexpectedly found munitions and explosives of concern and UXO during cap construction.

For IRP Site 1 Landfill at Naval Air Weapons Station, Pt. Mugu, CA, OTIE prepared and analyzed conceptual designs for three alternatives to rehabilitate the landfill cap. Prepared final design that included cover upgrade on over 19 acres and vegetative buffers for wetland protection.
