TN&A Receives the Nunn-Perry Award
In 2006, TN&A received the prestigious Department of Defense (DoD) Nunn Perry award for outstanding achievements in the DoD Mentor-Protégé Program. Through the program, we diversified our business capabilities, enhanced organizational and technical quality, and promoted company growth and expansion with our DoD customers through the assistance from our Mentor, Tetra Tech EC.

The Nunn Perry Award recognizes TN&A’s achievements in increasing our technical capabilities and diversifying our lines of service in alignment with the DoD’s programs. Specifically, we focused our Quality Control System tomeet the Department of the Navy’s expectations and requirements. These enhancements emphasized standard operating policies and procedures enabling TN&A to manage DoD projects more efficiently and with improved quality control. Already, we have seen a reduction of 15% in our project costs to our clients.

Emphasis was also placed on improving the effectiveness of TN&A’s health and safety procedures. TN&A received safety training from TtEC that focused on relevant industry specific procedures for maintaining safe work sites. Due to the pertinent safety techniques demonstrated, the safety environment on DoD job sites managed by TN&A improved substantially. After the assistance from TtEC, TN&A’s EMR decresed. This lower EMR reflects TN&A employee awareness of on-the-job safety and the benefits of positive safety attitudes and skills.

TN&A Receives the USEPA Administrator’s Award for Outstanding Woman-Owned Business Enterprise
In 2004, TN&A received the USEPA Administrator’s Award for outstanding accomplishments. TN&A was nominated by USEPA Region 4 based on our excellent performance on our Superfund Technical Assessment Team (STAT) contract. TN&A provides technical services for CERCLA Hazard Ranking System (HRS) site assessments under a unique fixed-price cost structure. The assignments include both file review type Reassessments (RAs) and Preliminary Assessments (PAs), as well as fieldwork oriented Site Inspections (SIs), PA/SIs, and Expanded Site Inspections (ESIs). TN&A has self-performed all the work and has received ratings of “outstanding” and “excellent”.
TN&A Receives Safety Award for $15M Site Investigation and Remedial Action Project
TN&A was tasked under the USACE Kansas City District PRAC to perform expanded site investigation for the delineation of site contamination and extensive remedial action at the Nascolite Superfund, a high-profile Superfund site located within a residential area. TN&A completed the site investigation, involving collection of soil samples and analyzing for lead and methylmethacrylate (MMA), on schedule. For this phase of remediation work, TN&A received a Safety Performance Award from the USACE Philadelphia District. Remedial action tasks included excavation, characterization, transportation, and disposal of 67,000 tons of lead- and VOC-contaminated soil and 865,000 gallons of liquid waste. TN&A developed a complete sampling plan and procedures and used 24-hour rapid turnaround laboratory analysis to determine soil contaminant concentrations, to direct excavation operations, and to avoid material handling delays. TN&A instituted strict safety controls on this project. With over 35,000 safe man-hours, TN&A achieved “zero” lost time accidents through construction completion. USACE Philadelphia District nominated TN&A for a second Excellent Safety Performance Award for the remedial action portion of the work.
